Sun Into Gemini 2024: Making Hay
Gemini is the domain of siblings, neighborhoods and socializing. The Mercury-ruled sign seeks mental stimulation and craves communication. During the 2024 Gemini Sun cycle, Mercury, Venus, Mars and Jupiter will change signs. In fact, and probably much to the delight of those curious, affable twins, Mercury and Venus will change signs twice during the next month. Gemini also likes to keep busy, and the first week of the unfolding cycle will see the Sun enter Gemini on the 20th, Venus follow suit on the 23rd, under an especially well-aspected full Moon, and Jupiter make its entrance into the mutable air sign on the 25th. Mercury will speed into Gemini on June 3rd and Mars will lumber into Taurus on the 8th. Jupiter’s Gemini transit occurs approximately every twelve years and this one will last until June 9, 2025. Key connections during this visit include a pair of squares to Saturn and a trine to Pluto in Aquarius.
The Sun, Mercury, Venus and later Mars will make Gemini-based squares to Pisces-based Saturn in advance of Jupiter. Noting what surfaces under the early squares might prove helpful when navigating the more challenging Jupiter Saturn set. The Venus Saturn square will take place on June 8th, the Sun Saturn one on the 9th, Mercury’s on the 12th, and a harsher Mars Saturn square on August 16th. The first Jupiter Saturn square will form on August 19th at 17º 28′ with Saturn retrograde. and the second square will take place on December 24th at 14º 01′ with Jupiter retrograde. Because the two planets will remain in this square for over four months, with the square’s orb only stretching to 8º at its widest phase, its dissolving quality will color the character of the entire period. That time frame includes Pluto’s final pass through Capricorn and the US Presidential election. Lastly, the squares will begin when Mercury, Saturn, Neptune and Pluto will be retrograde, signaling that dirt which has been swept under carpet will need to be exposed and removed. Making the most of the unimpeded exuberance of expansive Jupiter prior to and following the square period is recommended.
Long before those tense skies roll in, Jupiter, along with the other planets visiting informative Gemini, will trine Pluto in futuristic Aquarius. Planetary meetings in these two air-signs have a inspired brilliance all their own, and Pluto’s presence adds a deeper dimension and greater significance to them. The Sun Pluto trine will take place on May 22nd, the Venus Pluto trine on the 25th (as Jupiter enters Gemini), the Jupiter Pluto trine on June 2nd at 1º 53′, Mercury’s on June 3rd and the Mars Pluto trine on July 21st. These are occasions when brainstorming can easily lead to breakthroughs. On June 17th Mercury and Venus will move into Cancer, where they will conjoin later in the day. Their co-presence in the Moon-ruled sign portends more celestial guidance, all be it in a more watery form. Ahead of their connection, the full Moon on May 23rd will take place in Sagittarius, the sign of Jupiter’s rulership. This stellar day will also see Venus and Jupiter conjoin in abundant Taurus, just before Venus changes signs and it will see the two sextile psychic Neptune, further heightening intuitive insights. Visions gleaned beneath this auspicious full Moon can offer critical keys to the immediate and long term Gemini cycles at hand.
