Forecast Jun 8-14, 2020: Across The Universe

Sounds of laughter, shades of earth are ringing through my opened ears,
Inciting and inviting me.
Limitless, undying love which shines around me like a million suns,
And calls me on and on across the Universe
Jai Guru Deva, Om”
-Lennon/McCartney

When describing Mars as the servant of two selves, the ego self and the transpersonal self, Jungian analyst Edward Edinger said, “Man’s extremity is God’s opportunity.” This week will be largely shaped by the Sun’s square to Neptune on Thursday, Saturday’s Mars Neptune conjunction and the three-day Pisces Moon bridging those two events. The Sun represents our identity. In Gemini, it’s how we express and like to think of ourselves. In Pisces, Mars and Neptune are challenging definitions and beckoning us to reflect upon our spiritual essence. Pisces is the emotional water sign of victims, perspective and holism. Because connections involving the outer planets, like Neptune, take weeks to build and decay, you may have already been feeling Mars presence in Pisces. He’s been poking and prodding hearts for weeks. This may have manifested in the resurfacing of victimhood experiences from your past or from bearing witness to painful current events. Pisces empathizes, deeply and sincerely. To be the final sign of the zodiac, Pisces has earned its miles by walking in all twelve pairs of astrology’s shoes. It therefore possesses profound understanding, and it extends full consideration to all points of view. Its gifts are integration and forgiveness. With “logical” Mercury now fully immersed in the fellow water sign of Cancer, this week offers limitless emotional clearing, healing and transformation. Got tissue?

Forecast Jun 1-7, 2020: Looking For Landmarks

Gemini has a nearly insatiable appetite for the 411. Curious, chatty and always circulating, Gemini is a veritable news hub unto itself. Friday’s full moon and eclipse, now pregnant with revelations, promise to exceed even Gemini’s exorbitant demand for data. Gemini also loves variety. Yet the oncoming barrage of personal planet interactions threatens to exhaust astrology’s effervescent Twins. Those Twins also have quite the reputation for bipolarity, and this week’s alignments will range from nice to nasty. Finally, Gemini rules the nervous system. For Earthlings, moving through the this week, peacefully and coherently, will take some effort.

The action starts with Tuesday’s Venus square to Mars as Mercury slips into the shadow of its next retrograde at 5 Can 30. Venus is the planet of relationships, and we all know how hot headed Mars can be. With the Red planet in Pisces and under the influence of Neptune, arising arguments could have been festering in the unconscious for aeons or be based entirely upon delusions. Are we separating fact (Gemini) from fiction (Pisces) or silvery tongues (Gemini) from intrinsic truth (Pisces)? As we ponder those riddles, the very next day Venus conjoins the Sun. This is the week’s breath of fresh air, midway point of the Venus retrograde and a showering of good will and clarity. Soak it up, because on Friday the full Moon eclipse at 15 Sag 34 is accompanied by a Mercury sextile to Uranus. Sextiles generally bring friendly connections, and Uranus generally brings Chaos (yes, with a capital “C”). This is the first eclipse of the new Gemini Sagittarius series and the first one under the recent nodal shift into those signs. Emotions run high at full Moons. If fighting, kissing and making up and fighting again has been a pattern, proceed with caution now. We are reaching genuine breaking and end points. Vacillation takes another hit over the weekend when the Sun squares Mars. The week ends under a sobering Capricorn moon. Before going overboard with flying fingers across keyboards, evaluating our big picture needs and intentions is in order. When we can detect the landmarks, the emotional storms being whipped up by mutable pressures and Mercury in Cancer can be directed to a point, and a purpose.

Venus, the planet of romance and finance, is moving backwards. This aspect is good for reigniting old flames, recovering money and rekindling old friendships. How it will work for you depends on your unique chart and situation. While Venus is retrograde, there’s a 20% discount on 30 minute readings. Forecast May 25-31, 2020: Not Exactly On The Same Page

If you need a definite answer right now or you’re hoping to completely resolve an issue, that’s going to be tricky to impossible this week. Throughout the week, Mercury is making odd connections with Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto and undergoing a sign change. The angles being formed are not particularly harsh. But being astrology’s quincunxes, they pose their own unique challenges. A quincunx means that the planets involved are 150 degrees apart, so they do not share a common modality (cardinal, fixed or mutable) or element (fire, earth, air or water). Without common ground, coming to an understanding, much less an agreement, is difficult.

Mischievous Mercury plays many roles in astrology. Going back to his Greek origins as Hermes, he was Apollo’s (annoying) little brother, who at the ripe old age of one day crept out of his crib, made the world’s first lyre from a tortoise shell, stole his brother’s cattle and forcefully denied any wrongdoing when confronted by Apollo. To this day we associate Mercury with being clever, quick, inventive and deceitful. So when this little rascal spends a week flitting around the zodiac, chatting with power brokers like Pluto, Jupiter and then Saturn, we might want to get the story completely straight before making any long term decisions. This week’s sign change sees the Messenger moving from his happy Gemini home, where he is especially nimble, adept and talkative, to caring, reflective Cancer. In the cardinal water sign, the busyness of the past few weeks will be replaced by a focus on self-care, the home and security. This sign change could very well portend reinstatement of shelter in place orders. Cancer is where Mercury will spend his coming retrograde, from June 18th-July 12th. We’ll enter that retrograde’s shadow next week and exit it on July 26th. For now, news about business (quincunxes to Pluto & Jupiter in Capricorn) and medical advances (quincunx to Saturn in Aquarius) will be interesting and intriguing. But to get a better picture, we may need to see what light next week’s full Moon sheds, with a calmer, nurturing Mercury in tow.

Forecast May 18-24, 2020: Easy Does It

On the surface, this week’s noteworthy events are a Sun sign change into Gemini and the new Gemini Moon. But the planet to beware of is Neptune. This week the planet of illusions and deception will square Venus and Mercury, and several iterations of these squares are in the works for the next month. Outgoing, friendly Gemini heightens our desire to mix and mingle. As the Sun enters the mutable air sign, restrictions are being lifted, school years are ending and warm days abound. Naturally our thoughts and conversations are turning to summer topics like travel and recreation. it’s as if the cosmos is abandoning the chains of COVID-19 and throwing a party, with the Gemini Sun, Moon (and its North Node), Mercury and Venus as its VIP guests. Pleasure-seeking Venus is hosting the celebrations, and heightening hankerings to explore, spend and socialize even further. Neptune, you might say, is bringing the booze.

Neptune is the outer planet whose influence is subtle and whose effect is unmistakable. Like most intoxicants, it relaxes inhibitions, induces a sense of feeling groovy and impairs clear thinking. Shortly after the Sun enters Gemini on Wednesday, Venus will square Neptune, and right before Friday’s new moon, Mercury will square Neptune. On June 3rd Venus will conjoin the Gemini Sun, on the 5th the Moon will be full (in aspirational Sagittarius), on the 6th the Sun will square Mars (in Pisces) and on the 13th Mars and Neptune will be conjunct. The mutability of Gemini, Sagittarius and Pisces adds to the nearly imperceptible changing of the landscape that will play out during the solar and lunar phases now getting underway. I expect this week’s Venus Neptune buzz to carry us right through to June 5th’s full Moon and minor eclipse. However, the Sun Mars square coming right on its heels signals a distinct shift. Knowing now that a potentially nasty Mars Neptune hangover is on the horizon, we can temper the Venus Neptune seduction infiltrating the ethers as the Sun moves into Gemini.
