Hello,
At this dark moon, I just uploaded a demo of a new song I am writing/have written. You can listen to it by clicking the player below. This is a homemade recording, not the fancy studio production that most people are used to hearing. I decided to post it tonight to move past my fear and to let music do what music is supposed to do for others, whatever that is. Today I saw a friend and colleague at a book signing. We worked together for five years, and being an author was his dream. Seeing and being in the long line of people waiting to have him sign his newest release was an inspiration.
The chorus of this song is in Irish (commonly referred to as Gaelic), and it means thank you (plural). The song is meant to acknowledge all of us workers and our connectivity. As I keep playing, singing and polishing it, it will likely change a bit. But if I wait for perfection to post, I’d stay stuck and afraid another day. That’s one too many. Wishing everyone a much easier time under Monday’s new Virgo moon. Affirming the world’s troubles and tensions giving way to love. Thank you for visiting. Thank you for listening.
Here’s a little video, postcard from Colorado, that I put together for it.
The Gratitude Song (Gur Raibh Maith Agaibh)
Elizabeth Pendleton
Ordinary day begins
Boiling water, coffee beans
Dark powdered fingertips
Dark powdered fellowship
Ordinary day begins
Running water, coffee seeds
Dark soil on fertile land
Dark soil on working hands
I may never know your name
I may never see your face
But I see the Light in you
I praise the Light in you
Ordinary trip begins
Grocery store, shopping list
Wheels rolling down the aisles
Wheels rolling on for miles
Ordinary trip begins
Grocery store on the list
Wheels filling up interstates
Wheels filling up dinner plates
I may never know your name
I may never see you face
But I see the Light in you
I praise the Light in you
Chorus:
Gur raibh maith agaibh
Gur raibh maith agaibh
Gur raibh maith agaibh
Ordinary night begins
Velvet skies, origins
Dancing with Jupiter and Mars
Dancing with Bear and Dipper stars
Ordinary night begins
Velvet skies, future glimpse
Dancing on a tiny rock
Dancing secrets yet unlocked
I may never know your name
I can see your Holy face
I see the Light in you
I praise the Light in you
Chorus
