The Sun is at the center of our solar system, and this week it’s at the center of the astrological action. Before settling into stable Taurus on Sunday, it will transit the late degrees of fiery, independent Aries. From the most robust territory of the cardinal fire sign, the Aries Sun will square Pluto on Tuesday and Jupiter on Wednesday. Those two are of course presently entrenched in Capricorn, the sign of governments, banking and economic systems. It’s hard to say what will shake out from these confrontations, but it’s fair to say that a whole lot of shaking will be going on. Interestingly enough, talkative Mercury, also in impulsive Aries, is set to sextile Venus in social Gemini on Friday and Mars in rational Aquarius on Saturday, under a Pisces moon. From its position in impetuous Aries, Mercury is giving us the opportunity to either make nice quickly or to lob a few grenades into the fire. The Pisces moon encourages perspective, compassion and a spiritual approach, but it can also confuse matters. Once the Sun moves into the fixed earth sign of Taurus on Sunday, we’ll be in a better position to get and maintain a grip. The Sun will be transiting the sensuous, placid sign for the next month. From there, it will conjoin Uranus, the awakener and powerhouse planet known for its own brand of chaos. Cultivating the sturdy, steadfast qualities of the Bull may be more challenging in 2020. Nonetheless, we are entering its centering domain.
