“Looks like I picked the wrong week to quit sniffing glue.”

When readying ourselves for the coming week’s journey, packing generous amounts of humor, patience and perhaps even some old school technologies is advised. Though the week will take off under the disarming guidance of a gentle Pisces Moon, we’ll begin experiencing turbulence as soon as Mercury moves into lusty Leo on Tuesday. In the fixed fire sign until August 11th, the Messenger is more opinionated than usual. When the aspects are favorable, like Wednesday’s trine from the Aries Moon or Sunday’s conjunction with the Leo Sun, warmth and charisma flow from a leonine Mercury. But, when placed amidst more challenging aspects, like Sunday’s opposition from stern Saturn, under a squaring Taurus Moon, well, the trickster could prove to be a most unruly passenger. While that Aries Moon is making friendly chatter with Mercury and the Sun on Wednesday, Jupiter will slide back into stimulating Aquarius. Unfortunately for everyone onboard, this sets up Thursday morning’s 29-degree, fixed sign battle royale between Mars in regal Leo and kingly Jupiter. When no one is willing to compromise, everyone loses. Six of the ten planets will be in the unyielding fixed signs when Mars and Jupiter duke it out. So flexibility, like ample legroom, will be scarce. If possible, fasten your seatbelt and wait until late Thursday afternoon when Mars heads into thoughtful, mutable Virgo. Once the feisty planet lands in the practical earth sign, calm and focus will be served. This transit will last until September 14th, making it an ideal time to tackle projects the require a tranquil mind and attention to detail.
“Does anyone know how to fly a plane?”

Flight plans to land in a relaxing weekend will be scraped when the Moon enters Taurus on Friday afternoon and reactivate all of the week’s fixed sign friction. We’ll encounter the first bumpy patch on Saturday morning when the Moon squares Mercury, the Sun and Saturn. Meal service can briefly resume on Saturday afternoon when the Moon trines Venus. But those tray tables will have to return to their upright and locked position a few hours later, when the Moon and chaotic Uranus join forces. The commotion continues into Sunday when the Sun and Mercury get together first thing in the morning, in lively Leo. Ordinarily this would be a pure shot of enthusiasm, to uproariously celebrate something or other. Under current conditions however, it will more likely seem like the two planets knocking back too many Bloody Marys and proceeding to rile up fellow travelers. To restore order, Saturn will directly confront both. Only then, can we begin our final descent. Deplaned, and quite possibly disheveled, we’ll be grateful to claim even the most battered of luggage and exit the terminal. Surely, we’ve made it past the worst of 2021’s fixity.
“And don’t call me Shirley.”
