Mars’ move into Gemini on Wednesday and Mercury’s conjunction with Jupiter on Thursday are this week’s highlights. But its real cat amongst the pigeons is the seemingly innocuous Moon. La Luna will instigate commotion amongst the fixed and mutable signs beginning on Tuesday night, when she slips into passionate, secretive Scorpio. As their name implies, fixed signs, Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius, crave predictability. But when repression is the price of reliability, watch out. An opposition from disruptive Uranus, as well as a series of squares from Saturn, Mercury and Jupiter, threaten to throw even scrupulously stealth Scorpio into turmoil. This volatile tug of war with Uranus puts Scorpio’s love of temptation in direct conflict with Taurus’ inclination for stability. In this matchup, sturdy, steady Taurus is unlikely to contain Scorpio’s destructive tendencies and Uranus’ disorderly imperatives. Meanwhile the planets in Aquarius are poised to expose schisms between private lives and public faces. Scorpio and Aquarius both prize honestly. They just have diverging motives and uses for it. In this case, dissension between psychological interiors and outward appearances will require reconciliation. Softening the blows, and perhaps helping to integrate the Hadean content, this Scorpio Moon will trine Venus, the Sun and Neptune before it heads into mutable Sagittarius on Thursday. Also, the gentle coaxing from Wednesday’s Venus Uranus sextile will encourage cooperation between factions.
But even after the Moon exits the underworld of Scorpio, one’s dark secrets will not yet necessarily be safe. Under this Moon, Jupiter, the ruling planet of Sagittarius, will exacerbate Mercurial impulses to blurt things out. In part that’s because mischievous and mouthy Mercury will conjoin excessive Jupiter in the erratic air sign of Aquarius on Thursday evening. Concurrently, on Wednesday Mars will have left Taurus for Mercury-ruled, mutable Gemini. Even in these earliest degrees of the chatty air sign, the planet of provocation will make its contribution to information sharing. Right before Mercury and Jupiter get to talking, the red planet will make an exact opposition to the Sagittarius Moon. It is said that the truth will set one free, and freedom is an aspiration shared by Mars, Aquarius and Sagittarius. Leagues beneath all of Thursday’s obvious hubbub, Neptune will cross the shadow of its forthcoming retrograde at 20 Pisces 24. This is a point we will revisit on December 1st. Probing Mars will be in inquisitive Gemini until April 23rd. There it will prod the planets in Pisces and activate the oppositions of the lunar Nodes, presently in Gemini and Sagittarius. The Nodes, similarly to Neptune, speak to a larger mission, while the personal planets bring conversations about ideas and ideals right down to earth. Mutable signs support release and change. The Sun, Venus and Neptune, in receptive, mutable Pisces, have already begun sounding the call for internal wholeness. This week, the introspective Moon may well lay bare the personal bondage that has impeded freedom.
