If the recent personal planet retrogrades, in combination with the plethora of planets in foggy Pisces, seemed to put life in an interminable holding pattern, all of that is about to change. During 2025’s Taurus Sun cycle Mercury, Venus and Mars will enter new territory, as all three move beyond the shadow points of their recent retrogrades. Additionally, Venus will exit the nebulous waters of Pisces and venture into pioneering Aries, while Saturn makes final preparations to follow suit. Lingering ambiguities will be further challenged by a series of fixed sign choice points taking place throughout the Bull’s run. Finally, the Sun and Mercury are on course for their last Taurus conjunctions with Uranus, as the change-maker completes its seven-year-stay in astrology’s fixed earth sign.
An early indication that the times are indeed a changing will come on April 19th, when the Sun enters Taurus, and Mars, newly relocated in fiery Leo, trines Neptune, newly arrived in fellow fire sign Aries. The inspiration they ignite will increase when Mercury moves past its retrograde shadow of 9° Aries 36′ on the 26th. Next, Venus will fan adventurous flames when she enters impetuous Aries on the 30th. On May 2nd, a reinvigorated Mars will blast beyond its retrograde shadow of 6° Leo 10′, and on the 16th, Venus will cross her 10° Aries 50′ shadow point. Accelerating progress, the Sun, Mars, Pluto and a potent full Moon are poised to clear remaining obstacles.

Taurus, Leo, Scorpio and Aquarius are the steadfast and intractable fixed signs of the zodiac. Due to their determined, uncompromising nature, hard aspects between planets in these signs make for some of astrology’s most decisive battles. The Taurus Sun will square Mars in Leo, under an Aquarius Moon, on April 20th and Pluto in Aquarius on the 23rd. Meanwhile, a mounting opposition between Mars and Pluto will build towards its April 26th zenith. April 27th’s new Taurus Moon can signal a time for clearing the slate and making new starts or exacerbating tensions triggered by Mars and Pluto. Lunar squares to the two are likely to impose decision-making and challenge the most dedicated of peacemakers. Fortunately, Venus ruled Taurus is renowned for its patience, easygoing nature and ability to remain grounded. The rocky start to this lunar cycle will culminate on May 12th, when Mercury (newly arrived in Taurus on the 10th) will square Pluto under a Full Moon in Scorpio. Scorpio is the Pluto ruled sign of death and transformation, and this dramatic Moon is poised to transmit the sign’s directives for necessary change. At 22º Scorpio 13′, it will be closely aspected by degree to Jupiter, Saturn, the lunar Nodes, and Uranus, broadening its influence considerably. The Sun’s proximity and Moon’s opposition to Uranus, the planet of chaos and liberation, further signal a momentous occasion. The Sun will make its exact and last conjunction to Uranus in Taurus on May 17th, followed by Mercury on the 24th, a few days into the Gemini Sun cycle. If that date rings a bell, it is because it is when Saturn will ingress into Aries. Thus, the shifting of planets from mellow, meandering Pisces into bold, direct Aries will be complete. The sturdy, reliable stamina of the Taurus Sun is on hand for the journey.
