This week’s events are momentous. They include Saturn and Pluto stationing direct, our second Mars square to Saturn, a full Aries Moon and Venus changing signs. When the action gets this dramatic on the outside, seeking refuge within becomes more important than usual. The body astrologers credit with describing our interior landscape is the Moon. It represents emotional needs, instinct and the unconscious. This week it moves from Pisces to Aries to Taurus, conjoining Neptune, Mars and Uranus along the way. No matter how loud and chaotic things may get out there, the Moon is beckoning us to tune into intuition and to explore our inner worlds.
On Monday the Moon moves into poetic Pisces, and by late Tuesday night/early Wednesday morning it will be fully immersed in Neptune’s oceanic waters via their conjunction. This is the sublime realm of music, muses and metaphysics. Its hallucinogenic allure and peaceful perspective offer the perfect escape from debate, madness and debate madness :). Monday also hosts a friendly trine between Venus and Mars, in fire signs, and the end of Saturn’s retrograde. But Tuesday’s last (of 2020) Mars Saturn square threatens to disrupt the serenity that the Pisces Moon and Neptune are cultivating. Staying Zen-like might take some effort, but supportive sextiles will be flowing from Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn through Wednesday.
Things shift late Wednesday night when the Moon moves into Aries. It’s preparing to reach peak Harvest Moon on Thursday afternoon, at 9 degrees of the cardinal fire sign. Though full Moons generally mark the high point of a cycle, this Moon is on course for a late degree connection with Mars on Friday night. This combo, with its accompanying army of squares and oppositions and all still reverberating from Tuesday’s Mars Saturn square, is very capable of taking on some ugly forms of expression. However, Aries can just as easily lead with some remarkably warm and wonderful characteristics. It is the breath of fire, life itself. If we stay the course of journeying through this week more internally than externally, we can tap into the sign’s inspiring and infectious effervescence and apply it positively. Aiding in the call to calm, on Friday Venus leaves fiery Leo for thoughtful Virgo.
On Saturday the Moon guides into the terrain of relaxed, patient Taurus. Taurus is the Venus-ruled sign that represents the five senses and earthly delights. It slows us down, gets us into our bodies and encourages us to experience what gives us physical pleasure. Saturday and Sunday are stellar days for taking a drive to see the changing autumn leaves, luxuriating in a long sea salt or essential oil bath or enjoying an exquisite meal The Moon will conjoin electrifying Uranus early on Sunday morning, but even that shouldn’t bother astrology’s languid bull. Contributing to the easy-going atmosphere, Pluto stations direct three hours later. Planets, like large boats, pretty much stop before they turn around. This is true for going into and coming out of retrogrades. Pluto is of course one of the planets transiting the fellow earth sign Capricorn. Fortunately for all of us, unlike Thursday and Friday’s fractious angles, the Taurus Moon is favorably aligned with the big three in Capricorn. Add those groovy, harmonious vibes from Neptune in Pisces, and we should be able to reach the end of our lunar trip feeling safe, secure and grounded.
