Whatever this past weekend’s full Moon stirred up will take a few days to settle down. Though decidedly lighter than last week’s waxing Moon aspects, there’s a smoldering quality to most of the week’s astrology. That said, the Moon is now waning and several celestial bursts of inspiration are on the way. Most significantly amongst them, on Saturday Mercury will trade the ambiguity of Pisces for the impetuousness of Aries. That bold stroke alone will help us take a fresh look at some new opportunities. But first, Mercury has a meeting with Neptune on Monday. At its best, this Pisces conjunction represents an oceanic point of deep, meditative reflection. In a state of peace and non-attachment, profound insight can emerge. Ideally we’ll just sit with it, allowing visions to unfold. The shadow side of Mercury and Neptune aligning in fluid Pisces is that they are quite capable of creating a lot of confusion or seducing us into dangerous realms of delusion. For example, under this influence, one could be lulled into get rich fantasies and bet his/her stimmy on more GME while ignoring urgent necessities like paying the housing and food bills. As if to save us from ourselves, overnight on Monday the Moon will roll into no-nonsense Scorpio.
Pluto-governed Scorpio presides over life and death. Sometimes the mere thought of complete ruin is enough to snap us right back into reality. This two-day lunar venture will also trip fixed sign triggers, including an opposition from Uranus in down-to-earth, resource-conscious Taurus. If there’s true value in Monday’s work in the imaginal plane, then the Scorpio Moon will assess its validity. Simultaneously, Saturn will sextile Venus on Tuesday and the Sun on Wednesday. Cold, austere Saturn is neither warm nor fuzzy. But in Aquarius, the planet of limitations is more favorably predisposed to the Sun and Venus in audacious Aries. The week’s next reality check arrives late Thursday night when Mercury will sextile Pluto in Saturn-ruled Capricorn. Here living the dream will have to be reconciled with the economic facts. Lightening up moods and outlooks, by then the Moon will have moved into optimistic Sagittarius.
Eternally hopeful Sagittarius is of course astrology’s third fire sign, making this Moon a good companion to the Saturn and Jupiter in keen Aquarius and the Sun and Venus in invigorating Aries. The Jupiter-ruled sign also instills a sense of possibility. Amping up the courage, Mercury will enter Aries on Saturday night, where it will travel with the Sun until April 19th. Together, their live-wire act will banish lethargy, boost zeal and prompt action. But in intrepid Aries, Mercury is ill-equipped to think things through. As if to leave us one last note of caution, the week ends with a Capricorn Moon heading into a conjunction with Pluto. It seems that the intuitive Moon and volcanic Pluto will remind us that all actions have consequences.
