During the next two weeks the retrogrades of Mars, Mercury and Uranus will conclude. Along the way Venus will collaborate with Mars and Saturn, and the Sun will move from Capricorn to Aquarius, where the new Moon will take place on the 21st. Uranus went retrograde on August 24, 2022, Mars on October 30th and Mercury on December 29th. During their retrogrades, the three have given everyone time to mull over short and long range plans. As we venture into 2023, the time for implementation is quickly approaching. To help with last minute tweaks and meaningful insights, Venus is stepping up to assist.
On the 9th she will pair up with Mars via an air sign trine. On the 12th Mars will station and turn direct. In clever Gemini, the passionate planet has probably pointed out areas of frustration during its review period. With loving Venus making a supportive trine from lofty Aquarius, just days before Mars gets the green light, bright ideas about how to maneuver around obstacles, or how to eliminate them altogether, will abound. This collab is where encouragement meets raw courage. If more contemplation is desired, the pragmatic Capricorn Sun will sextile imaginative Neptune in holistic Pisces on the 13th. Because Neptune is an outer planet, the entire weekend will be infused with the subtle and practical guidance inherent in this sextile. Before leaving the industrious earth sign, the Sun has a blockbusting conjunction with Pluto on the 18th, the day Mercury will station and turn direct. The planet Pluto was named for the god of wealth and the underworld, Hades in Greek mythology. The adage that sunshine is the best disinfectant is appropriate for this combination. It seems that the two are intent on illuminating what needs refinement, restructuring or release, and that Mercury is in on the exposé. Capricorn is the home of austere Saturn, and like Taurus, is deeply connected with finances and resources. In Cap, the Sun, Pluto and Mercury may be forcing many to face hard facts. They will also be indicating where solutions lie.
On the 20th the Sun will enter the visionary sign of Aquarius, followed immediately by a new Aquarius Moon on the 21st. Aquarius is astrology’s ingenious fixed air sign. Since January 2nd, Venus has been exploring its inventive and innovative corridors. Before heading into Pisces on the 26th, she has a meeting with stoic Saturn on the 22nd. Saturn sets limits, indicating that some of the highfalutin ideas flying around during these two weeks will be subjected to some scrutiny. But Uranus will challenge Saturn with a few surprises. The 22nd is also the day when the convention-defying planet will turn direct. Even in rational Aquarius, Venus is always tugging at heart strings. Saturn will be attempting to instill order and measure and Uranus will be unleashing its rebellious originality. Experimenting with each element is a way to discover the a-ha moments unique to one’s circumstance. The 22nd is a culmination point. Reflecting on each of the recent retrogrades, with heart-opening guidance from Venus, is one way of viewing and welcoming the potentials now arriving.
