When the Sun shifts into futuristic Aquarius on Tuesday, it will find itself in the company of Mercury, Jupiter and Saturn. Before it exits the fixed air sign on February 18th, Mercury will turn retrograde, Venus will have joined the cosmic gathering, known as a stellium, and we will have undergone a super stellium on February 11th, at the new Aquarius Moon. Translation, there’s a whole lotta Aquarius coming in, and it’s happening on a scale that we haven’t seen for decades. Quirky, rule-bending and always original, Aquarius invites us to step out of the comfort zone and into experimental realms. The sign’s ingenuity and mental acumen may prove quite handy as we navigate the kaleidoscopic and turbulent start of 2021. Our first adaptation test will come straight on the heels of the Sun’s sign change, when Mars conjoins Uranus on January 20th.
As noted previously, the combination of antagonistic Mars and unruly Uranus is a formidable one. Upsetting apple carts is the least troublesome of their favorite pastimes. Maturity isn’t their strong suit. But, from a wiser perspective, breaking new ground requires the abandonment of convention, and pushing us into beyond our current limitations is part of the unfolding celestial imperative. Uproarious Mars and Uranus are eager for the mission, and the Taurus Moon will be cheering them on. Underscoring that point, from Taurus they are challenging every single planet that transits Aquarius, via astrology’s contentious squares. The time lines of the entire year are full of the choice points that these squares will create. A critical one, and underpin of the incoming Aquarius Sun transit, is February 17th’s Saturn square to Uranus. Helpfully, this push comes to shove showdown is preceded by a much friendlier incarnation late this Friday night. That’s when Mars will square magnanimous Jupiter. Overcoming obstacles is in the DNA of optimistic, jovial Jupiter. In keen, innovative Aquarius, Jupiter, along with the other stellium members, will be revealing novel solutions. Surprisingly, their unorthodoxy will be well-matched with the moxie being stirred up by instigating Mars and his sidekick, rebellious Uranus. After all, Uranus is the ruler of Aquarius. This is certain to be one wild week, brimming and buzzing with activity, electricity and technology. If it all proves overwhelming, a restful sextile between Venus and Neptune will take place on Saturday night.
