This week begins with the Moon moving into Aquarius, and it ends with 2021’s new Moon in Aries. As most astrology enthusiasts know, Jupiter and Saturn are presently transiting inventive Aquarius. Those who keep an even closer watch are no doubt aware that the Sun, Mercury and Venus are currently in Aries and Mars is in Gemini. Aries is a fire sign and Aquarius and Gemini are air signs, and fire and air signs have positive polarity. This polarity is described as masculine, yang or outgoing and is shared by six of the twelve signs. When planets travel through signs of the same polarity, yin or yang, they can only create the agreeable conjunctions, trines and sextiles. For example, from Monday through Wednesday, that Aquarius Moon will conjoin Saturn and Jupiter in Aquarius, trine Mars in Gemini and sextile Mercury, the Sun and Venus in Aries. Similarly, when the Moon enters Aries late Friday night, it will go on to conjoin Mercury, the Sun and Venus, and sextile Saturn, Mars and Jupiter. Incidentally, a Sun Moon conjunction is always the new Moon point, in this case 22 Aries 25. With the exception of the Moon’s Pisces visit from Wednesday through Friday night, all seven of the personal planets, as well as the Moon’s Nodes, will be in those exciting and excitable yang signs. And La Luna won’t be the only body activating impulses.
Venus will form friendly sextiles, to motivated Mars on Tuesday and generous Jupiter on Saturday, and a few hours later Mercury will sextile strict Saturn. While Saturn is often maligned for imposing rules, a heedless and headstrong Mercury (in Aires) may benefit from a yellow light. The week’s red lights are Friday’s Mars square to Neptune and Sunday’s Venus square to Pluto, following the new Moon. This mutable Mars Neptune conflict can manifest in something as simple as a GPS or ride share app failing on the way to a party or something as complicated as the eruption of serious arguments, with zero agreement on basic facts. The Venus and Pluto debacle looks like a knockdown, drag out about money. This battle can take place in personal space or in the political arena, including social media spats and street demonstrations. Either way, it could get ugly. See Saturday’s Mercury Saturn sextile, rinse and repeat. Thus, the best strategy for the week is to grab the gusto right out of the gate, from the visionary Aquarius Moon, and immediately apply it to pet and prized projects through Thursday. Leave wiggle room on Friday or take the day off, and get ready to set new Moon intentions for Sunday. Because Aries starts the astrological wheel, this new Moon sets the year’s tone. Additionally, at the robust 22 degree mark, this one is full of propulsion. Aiming it over that Venus Pluto wall is the best way to avoid the punches Aries is infamous for throwing. And during a week buzzing with electricity and itching for adventure, there’s ample inspiration to launch into the next great frontier.
