What Pluto and the South Node began unearthing in early April will send powerful shockwaves over the next five months, if not throughout the remainder of the year. That Pluto goes retrograde on April 24th and Saturn on the 29th is a further indication that past deeds are bound to be revisited. In addition to the emphasis on the past created by nostalgic Cancer, the South Node connections and the retrogradation of both Saturn and Pluto, most of informative Mercury’s next retrograde in July will be spent in Cancer. Bookending all of these events, the year’s first eclipse, a solar one in Capricorn, took place on January 5th and its final eclipse, a partial solar one also in Capricorn, will happen on December 26th.
Healing Parental/Childhood Trauma: Pluto And The South Node Oppose The North Node
Pluto, though relegated to dwarf status by astronomers, is respectfully viewed by astrologers as the potent planet of the underworld and transformation. It unflinchingly peers into the darkest places in the psyche, with an eye towards reformation. Only when we recognize and acknowledge our most painful experiences can we heal them and create new outcomes. On April 4th, Pluto will align exactly with the South Node of the Moon, the astrological component that describes the past, in Capricorn. The two will oppose the North Node of the Moon, the component illuminating the future, in Cancer.
Surfing The Psychic Waves On March 20th
March 20th is of course Spring Equinox in the Northern Hemisphere and the day when the Sun enters the cardinal fire sign of Aries. This year the momentous event is preceded by a powerful Mars trine to Pluto, and this equinox includes a Super Full Moon in Libra, the final in our series of three Supermoons at 0 degrees and the first of two Libra full moons during the Aries sun cycle. I’ll have all of the details for you when I visit with Kristina Walsh on Surfing The Psychic Waves at 1:00 PM PST on Wednesday, March 20th.
Mercury Retrograde In Pisces: Swimming In Dreamtime
During a Mercury retrograde we are cautioned to expect delays, travel disruptions and technical malfunctions. Another popular rule of thumb is to look for the prefix “re” (reconsider, revisit, revise, review, rethink, etc.) and apply it to the circumstances that materialize during a retrograde. And while backing up one’s computer is advisable, at anytime, the Neptunian aspects surrounding this retrograde suggest that in order to find its true meaning, we need to look beneath the stereotypical surface.
Mercury In Pisces: Messages From The Deep
Known as the fast, fleet-footed Messenger of the Gods, Mercury is the speediest planet in astrology. If one of its infamous retrogrades is not approaching, it typically only stays in a sign for two to three weeks. But on Sunday Mercury slipped into Pisces for an extended two-month stay, one that includes its next retrograde (March 5th-28th). The Sun is poised to visit Pisces from February 18th through March 20th. And at 15 degrees of Pisces, slow moving Neptune is now midway through its transit (2011-2026). Add the visible presence of a Neptunian body to this cosmic soup, and we have a cycle when Neptune is bound to leave its indelible stamp on this Mercury transit of Pisces.
