Forecast Jul 22-28, 2019: Sunny Skies Ahead

An exuberant Aries moon greets the Sun when it moves into celebratory Leo on Monday, setting a decidedly optimistic tone, for the week ahead and for the next four weeks. That’s because the Sun’s 2019 homecoming will feature two Aries moons, a sweet Sun Venus conjunction and lots of positive trining between generous Jupiter and the personal planets as they pass through the regal fire sign. In fact, the first of these enthusiasm fests takes place on Thursday, when Mars and Jupiter join fiery forces to offer both a spiritual lift and an antidote to Wednesday’s Mercury (still Rx) Venus meeting in emotional Cancer. Though Mercury won’t turn direct until the 31st or head into Leo until August 11th, Venus’s entrance into the Lion’s den on Saturday continues to assure us that the high emotional tides of the past few months are quickly giving way to sunny skies and happier days. Best look? A beach body, stylish swimsuit and a dry towel.

Forecast Jul 15-21, 2019: Go Big & Go Home

All of the watery emotion of Cancer will come to the fore as we close out this year’s solar run through astrology’s cardinal water sign. On Tuesday this month’s second eclipse will bring powerful emotions to the surface under the full Capricorn moon. and later that day Venus, which tugs at our hearts and symbolises what we desire, will form the day’s second exact opposition, to Saturn also in Cap. Thursday’s Venus trine to Neptune will signal the need to put a little love in our hearts, as the old song says. On Friday Mercury will move back into hyper-sensitive Cancer, and by Sunday it will link up with that very late degree Cancer Sun for one more wave. Earlier that day Venus will oppose Pluto, in Capricorn, underscoring the recurring theme of the Cancer 2019 cycle, the Cancer Capricorn conflicts. As I stated back in April in my blog, we will continue to see news about children, law enforcement and hard truths. Best look? a sober mind and a compassionate heart.

Forecast Jul 8-14, 2019: High Tides

In the world of beach flags, a yellow flag is used for areas where caution is recommended and a red flag indicates dangerous conditions. While this week has enough favorable activity to balance things out, it is definitely not slated for smooth sailing. On Tuesday the emotional Cancer Sun will oppose strict Saturn, the planet of rules and restrictions, and on Sunday it will oppose almighty Pluto, the planet of destruction and transformation. In between and on Thursday, combative Mars and chaos-causing Uranus will face off as they square one another, from the obstinate fixed signs Leo and Taurus. All of this happens during the week that falls between the two current eclipses (on July 2nd and 16th). Helping us navigate these decidedly choppy astrological waters will be a Mercury Mars conjunction on Monday and a Sun Neptune trine on Wednesday. It might help to think of Monday’s Mercury Mars meetup as a time to huddle and plan a clear strategy for the upcoming conditions and Wednesday’s Sun Neptune meeting as a two-way radio dedicated to Divine communication. When those yellow or red flags are raised, preparation coupled with the ability to see unfolding events from a higher perspective can help us chart the optimum course. Best look? The stance, clarity and demeanor of a seasoned ship captain.

Forecast Jul 1-7, 2019: Breaking The Waves

A total solar eclipse happens July 2nd

According astrology, this is one of 2019’s biggest weeks. The action includes a total solar eclipse, our next Saturn opposition to the North Node and the start of Mercury’s next retrograde. Fittingly, Mars sets things in motion on Monday when it enters the fixed fire sign of Leo. Tuesday features that new moon eclipse at 10 Cancer 38. On Wednesday Venus changes signs, setting up house in Cancer, and the moon moves into lively Leo. Thursday will see the year’s next Saturn opposition to the North Node, in a series of three, at a formidable 17 degrees. And the week will end as the year’s second Mercury retrograde, from Leo back into Cancer, begins. Between the emotional intensity of the Sun, Venus and the North Node in Cancer and the fire and ferocity of Mercury, Mars and the moon in Leo, passion will permeate the skies and our psyches. If you claim to not know what you’re passionate about, the planets are about to drop some truth on you.

With so many big changes this week, it would be difficult to cover all of them adequately. Next week, I’ll zero in on the Mars transit of Leo, and here are links to articles about the Saturn North Node opposition and the Mercury retrograde. For this forecast, I’m focusing on the eclipse and Venus, both of which are deeply connected to our current Cancer Sun cycle. Cancer is concerned with home, family and emotional security. Because it describes our need for safety, it as one of astrology’s most emotional signs. Being a probing and provocative cardinal sign, Cancer triggers us. Being a water sign, its triggering is most likely going to involve our feelings. The moon is said to represent our intuition and true/inner feelings, and eclipses bring things to light. Notice what gets unearthed as we undergo July’s two eclipses and the retrogrades. Next, Venus is the planet of love and money, two of life’s biggest motivators, and it will be traveling through Cancer from July 3rd-27th. On July 19th Mercury will move back into Cancer. From there it will be digging up the past and also pushing our emotional buttons. Normally nimble, mental Mercury plays it cool and detached, enjoying its analytical, rational perspective. But in Cancer, even intellectual Mercury will be informed by feelings. Additionally, Mercury joins a large group of influential planets presently retrograde. All together, this may feel like a cosmic conspiracy to clean our emotional clocks. When those honest emotions come bubbling up to the surface, Cancer’s challenge will be to act upon and express the truths they expose with care. Best look: treating others and yourself with the love, compassion and support a Guardian Angel would bestow upon the most innocent and vulnerable child.
