Forecast Oct 18-24, 2021: Bracing For Impact

The week gets off to a euphoric start as Jupiter and Mercury go direct, the Moon enters adventurous Aries and Mars trines lucky Jupiter. But a Mars square to Pluto is building, and the Sun is about to leave the politeness of Libra for the raw honesty of Scorpio. Add Wednesday’s full Moon, at 27 Aries 26 to the mix, and things are about to get interesting. No one loves fire and ferocity quite as much as audacious Aries. The cardinal fire sign simply can’t sit still. Directed to a purpose, the Mars-ruled sign’s vigor and vitality are particularly useful when applied to physical tasks. Monday’s Mars connection to expansive Jupiter will further raise enthusiasm levels, leading into Wednesday morning’s full Moon. Aries rarely makes it the finish line. Its job is to fire the starting gun. Overdoing it in the first part of the week could lead to the sign’s infamous burnout. Grounding and perhaps soothing the overly spirited, the Moon will move into the fixed earth sign of Taurus on Wednesday afternoon.

One of astrology’s homes of nourishment, the other being Cancer, Taurus invites us to slow down, get centered and indulge in some serious self-care. It is where the tactile and tangible aspects of life take precedence. Unfortunately for the sign of simple pleasures, squares to the Moon from Saturn and Jupiter, as well as a jolt from Uranus, are in the offing, and that Mars Pluto square will be exact on Thursday. Provocative Mars will be coming at destructive Pluto from an uncompromising 90 degrees, forcing some issue or other to the fore. Mars is one of the personal planets, and Pluto is one of the transpersonal outer planets. Recently stationed direct, transfiguring Pluto is once again activating the late degrees of Capricorn, the sign of governments, industry and economies. Pluto first entered Capricorn in January 2008 at the start of the GFC, so events of global magnitude are mostly certainly in its wheelhouse. Mars’ involvement in this confrontation articulates the personal impact of such affairs. Venus is the personal planet of money, and it will not only turn retrograde in Capricorn on December 19th, but it will conjoin Pluto on December 25th. What Mars and Pluto unearth now is likely to be deeply tied to Venus’s exceptionally long Capricorn transit. Furthering themes of power, passion and systemic upheaval, the Sun will enter Pluto-ruled Scorpio late on Friday night.

Shamanic Scorpio is where corruption either hides out or undergoes purification. It represents an instinctive quest for the truth. Presently, the White House has proposed giving the U.S. government the power to monitor all financial transactions above $600 USD. That act alone threatens to expose unfathomable sums of unreported income. Meanwhile, the end of the road, to where countless Congressional members have kicked the proverbial can, looms. Detective Scorpio is about to crack open the books, and it’s unlikely to be pretty.

Forecast Oct 11-17, 2021: Emergence

The Moon’s entrance into accomplished Capricorn midday on Monday sets a productive tone for the incoming week. The presence of the Sun, Mercury, Mars in Libra however, could give that ambitious Moon more than a few obstacles to overcome on Tuesday, via a series of squares. Saturn-ruled Cap isn’t known for agility. But the nimble moves mastered when the gauntlet is thrown down on Tuesday will come in handy on Sunday, when the Libra Sun squares Pluto. To put it another way, issues willfully ignored early in the week will resurface with a vengeance on Sunday. A hefty trine to that Cap Moon from original Uranus on Tuesday will offer innovative solutions, and a sextile from psychic Neptune early Wednesday morning will allow answers to emerge. On Wednesday afternoon, Venus will trine Saturn and the Moon will move into ingenious Aquarius. This is when the week’s bumpy road is transformed into newly paved asphalt.

Rather than being sources of friction, the Sun, Mercury and Mars will pave the way to bright ideas and friendly alliances, as the planets in air signs cooperate and collaborate. During this stint, the Moon will conjoin Saturn and Jupiter, as a positive and promising Sun Jupiter trine becomes exact on Friday. Setting the stage for a relaxing weekend, the Moon will then slip into mellow Pisces on Friday night. From here, the Moon is likely to let the noise from social invitations and engagements go to voicemail. There’s no disdain for sociable Libra initiatives; it’s just that the Sun, Mercury and Mars will be forming those out of sync quincunxes to the Moon all weekend. While Libra and Pisces share an infinity for fine art, crowds will feel brassy to sensitive Pisces, making quieter, more intimate settings preferable. That said, an amicable Mercury Venus sextile on Saturday night will add a cordial vibe to all gatherings, regardless of size. With that Sun Pluto square looming on Sunday morning, keeping affairs low key is a good option.

Pisces is the sign of completion and contemplation. The Moon has made another journey through the zodiac, and its inward pull for reflection is particularly pronounced this cycle. Jupiter will station and turn direct overnight on Sunday, as will Mercury on Monday. During the past three weeks who hasn’t replaced at least one appliance or electronic device? Thank you Mercury. In fairness, Libra-based-Mercury has probably also presented some intriguing insights. Back on June 20th, Jupiter had made it to two degrees of Pisces, before moving backward into electric Aquarius, where it has resided since. The planet of faith and philosophy will re-enter spiritual Pisces on December 28th and move beyond the shadow zone of this retrograde on January 8, 2022. Whether plotting the application of Jupiter to the remainder of its Aquarius transit or imagining the possibilities for its Pisces sojourn, there’s a little more time for deliberation.

Forecast Sep 27 – Oct 10, 2021: Here Comes The Judge

While astrology’s mischief maker Mercury is retrograde, Pluto and Saturn are about to turn direct, the Moon will launch a new phase in a cardinal sign and Venus will change signs. Events get underway on October 6th, when a new Libra Moon coincides with powerful Pluto emerging from its six-month slumber. Since April 27th, its transfiguring force has been applied to the late degrees of Capricorn. Pluto explores shadowy worlds, and Cap is the sign of institutions, governments and big business. Emerging under the Sun sign of deliberation and justice, and notably on its new Moon, Pluto is probably packing quite the drop. This new Moon may bring significant news from the U.S. Department of Justice or from major global health organizations. After spending the past month in Pluto-ruled Scorpio, Venus will also surface from a dark night of the soul, on the 7th. For the next four weeks, she will transit philosophical and politically-oriented Sagittarius. The mutable fire sign is astrology’s hub of international travel, foreign affairs and morality. Finally, Saturn will station and turn direct on October 10th. The ringed planet enforces boundaries and laws, and since late May it has also been in review mode. Like Pluto, its stance will shift from fact-finding to implementation. On the sunny side, Saturn provides structure and imposes order. Its dark side however, has a distinctly authoritarian streak. This retrograde has taken it all the way back to seven degrees of humanitarian Aquarius. The fixed air sign is highly compatible with fellow air sign Libra, where the Sun, new Moon, Mars and Mercury are traveling, and with Sagittarius, where Venus is headed. Also, Saturn is currently sharing that Aquarian sector with generally benevolent Jupiter. Initiatives undertaken at the waxing phase of this lunar cycle have a strong probability of yielding positive outcomes, particularly in the long run. Further, retrograding Mercury in Libra and Jupiter in Aquarius will station and go direct on the 18th, two days before the Moon is full. In short, as the Sun, Mercury and Mars inhabit the sign of fairness and liberty, Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, Saturn and Pluto will conclude introspective and investigative phases.

Over the coming weeks, the usual inconveniences associated with Mercury’s retrogrades will invariably show up. Beneath the surface, however, crafty Mercury may turn out to be on a far more consequential mission. This is the planet named after the god, who, to get business done, consorts with thieves, rogues and all manner of outcasts. As he goes deeper undercover, the bevy of planets coming off of the sidelines are lighting up the high and like minded sectors of Libra, Sagittarius and Aquarius. Since at least late April, conflicting narratives have completed for dominance. On one side lay the imposters, liars and grifters, and on the other, the noble and forthright. The Sun is now shining from impartial, judicious Libra, and verdicts are about to be rendered.

Forecast Sep 20-26, 2021: Great Minds

Sleepwalking into someone else’s meditation is what being under Monday’s Pisces Moon may feel like, especially as it reaches its 28-degree-zenith late in the afternoon. But alert, eager Mercury isn’t retrograde yet. While the Messenger is still making forward progress. its uplifting trine to jovial Jupiter earlier in the afternoon is apt to help us get more than a few boxes checked. Likewise, the Moon will shake off the Pisces cobwebs and jump into action once it rolls into spirited Aries on Monday night. The cardinal fire sign is short on elaborate detail, and attention. But directed strategically, its bursts of enthusiasm can prove quite useful. Speedy Mercury initially finds an agreeable companion in the Aries Moon, and the two will knock a few more items off of to do lists on Tuesday. But some serious checks on impulsiveness are on the way from Pluto in reserved Capricorn. On Wednesday Pluto will square both, as the Sun slides into rational Libra.

More reality checks will arrive on Thursday when Venus is directly opposed by Uranus and the Moon moves into grounded Taurus. For Scorpio-based Venus, this confrontation could be connected with issues that arose on the 17th, when it squared Saturn. It might also be linked to bills that will be due on the 30th, when it will square Jupiter. Under these conditions, Venus may be feeling the economic weight of her luxuries more than the pleasure she ordinarily derives from possessing then. The Moon may shed more light on where spending might need to be curtailed, or where secrets have been kept, when it squares Saturn on Thursday, opposes Venus on Friday and squares Jupiter on Saturday. But Mars and Saturn, in air signs, will put the wind back into sails, when they meet for a healthy trine on Saturday afternoon. The Moon will join this meeting of the minds when it enters astrology’s third air sign, flexible Gemini, on Saturday night. If two heads are better than one, then a plethora of planets in air signs is positively brilliant. The mental maneuvers that Mars and Saturn come up with on Saturday will be furthered on Sunday when the Moon trines the Sun, Saturn and Mars. Next, the Moon will trine Jupiter and Mercury on Monday. While the bright ideas are shining, Gemini’s ruler Mercury will begin its retrograde in the wee hours of Monday morning. This one will last until October 18th. Rather than sucking the air out of big sky visions, this slowdown will offer opportunities to work through ideas thoughtfully and thoroughly. With the Sun and Mars remaining in Libra throughout Mercury’s retrograde in the cardinal air sign, there will certainly be time for weighing pros and cons.

Forecast Nov 18-24, 2019: Next Moves

If the current Mercury retrograde has brought its share of delays, technical snafus and frustrations, take heart. This week everything changes. While Mercury usually gets, and deserves, all the blame for mishaps and all manner of tech misfires and meltdowns, this time Mars has also been contributing to the cosmic inertia. Since early October, the red planet of passion has been stuck in eternally deliberating Libra. Libra, in its quest to be fair to all sides, stops to consider each and every point of view, all potential outcomes and their implications. The resulting indecision can be absolutely exasperating for Mars, and us. Fortunately, just after midnight late Monday night, or very early Tuesday morning (depending on your time zone), Mars moves into Scorpio. Before Pluto was discovered, Mars was Scorpio’s ruling planet, so this is familiar and comfortable territory for the action-oriented planet. Mars will reside in Scorpio until January 3, 2020, and from there enliven us with emotional honestly. If Mercury’s retrograde in Scorp showed you what you want, Mars will motivate you to go out and get it. Further improvement comes on Wednesday when Mercury stations to go direct, officially ending the dreaded, and dreadful, retrograde period. Things lighten and brighten up even more on Friday, when the Sun leaves intense Scorpio for inspirational Sagittarius. The Sun will spread the Sagittarius cheer for the next four weeks as it transits the Jupiter-ruled sign of optimism, hopes and aspirations. Giving us an immediate dose of those spirited and spiritual good vibrations, the much anticipated Venus Jupiter conjunction takes place, in Sagittarius, on Sunday. Venus loves pleasure and Jupiter brings luck and expansion, so many are seeing this meeting as the ideal time to wish upon that proverbial star. However, Sunday is also when Mars opposes Uranus, and both are in those intrenched fixed signs. All of this is taking place under the unflinching watch of a Scorpio moon. With a distinctive talent for disruption, Uranus is likely to win the day, helping us to break new ground or to see things from a radically new perspective. In any case, this week roadblocks are removed and new insights and possibilities are presented.

Forecast Nov 11-17, 2019: Embracing The Beauty Of Contemplation

Tuesday’s full moon in Taurus will undoubtably garner lots of attention. Not only is the celestial event a pleasure to behold, but because Taurus is ruled by Venus, the planet of beauty, there will be an astrological emphasis on contentment. Adding to the cosmic sense of ease and cooperation are a week’s worth of positive aspects. These begin on Monday when the Sun and Mercury meet in Scorpio. While at times Scorpio can feel overly intense, this alignment takes place on the day of the 11.11 portal opening and when Mercury literally transits the Sun (viewable in North America). We are redefining ourselves, and their meeting signals agreement and an opportunity for self-discovery and growth. On the full moon even combative Mars is making nice, in this instance, from harmonious, even-handed and fair-minded Libra to benevolent Jupiter at home in optimistic Sagittarius. If that elusive stroke of luck doesn’t turn up, encouragement will, and maybe both! But it’s Wednesday when the skies shower us with heaps of planetary support. Mercury and Saturn and the Sun and Pluto form sextiles and Mercury later trines Neptune. Wielding copious amounts of honesty and pragmatism, the Scorpio to Capricorn connections are resolute in their findings, purpose and shared determination, and the Mercury Neptune trine supports deep, meaningful and abiding understanding. The week’s only spat occurs on Thursday. But even that involves gracious Venus squaring Neptune in nebulous Pisces from affable Sag. Fighting over which sweetener to use would be a good analogy for this one, and with both in mutable signs, hard feelings aren’t on the menu. We head into the weekend under the care of a Cancer moon. While it could get into some contentious cardinal squabbles, it is equally capable of helping us commit to self-care and to surrounding ourselves with what most nurtures us. During this decidedly introspective week, a good strategy is to meditate on problems needing solutions on 11.11, Monday, to allow Tuesday’s full moon to work its illumination magic and to be receptive to those uncanny and unfolding Scorpio/Capricorn/Neptunian insights. Best look? A Monk’s robe, sacred text and votive candle, with the phone on DND for extended spurts.

Forecast Nov 4-10, 2019: It’s Getting Real

The week begins with a fixed, futuristic Aquarius moon squaring the Sun in equally fixed Scorpio and energizing Mars, presently in the sign of justice, via an uplifting trine on Monday, and a colossal square between Mars and Pluto on Tuesday. By Friday, the Sun, Saturn and Neptune will be on point and on purpose, as their considerable forces are joined. Their cooperative alignments include a Sun Saturn sextile, a Sun Neptune trine and Saturn’s final sextile to Neptune (until 2031). The Sun describes our identity. Saturn enforces the law and Neptune helps us see the bigger picture. All of this is happening under the intensive scrutiny of Mercury’s retrograde in Scorpio. The truth is coming out, like it or not, and it’s time to face the music. In its highest form, Scorpio is here to heal. Because daylight is the best disinfectant, the Sun and Mercury may very well be exposing what we’d prefer to ignore, those insidious shadows. Whether we choose consciousness or not is up to us. But whatever that choice, we’re still operating under their influence. When we’re willing to examine our feelings, motives and histories deeply and honestly, we create room for improvement. In a week starting off under an Aquarius moon, a force pointing towards outcomes and our future condition, the revelations emerging now are part of shaping what will become. Illusions we want to cling to are set for another jolt on Sunday, when the Taurus moon, building towards full strength, connects with disruptive Uranus. All of this week’s goings on are leading us right up to Mercury’s transit of the Sun, on the 11th and the full moon on the 12th. We are being asked what stories we tell ourselves, which ones are false or unhealthy and what we’re prepared to do differently to create more peace in our lives. Indeed, this is some weighty cosmic stuff. But then again, it’s Scorpio Time!

Forecast Oct 28-Nov 3, 2019: All Aboard The Shaman’s Magical Mystery Tour

Normally one would expect the start of the much hyped, and dreaded, Mercury retrograde to take center stage in the week’s astrology news. But when said week begins with a once-per-year Sun Uranus opposition and includes a positive Venus shift, a more original view might be taken. Hot on the heels of Sunday night’s new Scorpio moon, with its built-in tension with wild Uranus, Monday’s exact Sun opposition will pull tensions all the way to the surface and send some seismic shockwaves throughout the ethers. Notice what makes you uncomfortable and the “negative” emotions that seemingly spring out of nowhere. They are messengers and your teachers. By midweek things get a bit smoother courtesy of a sweet Mercury Venus conjunction. “What do I want instead (of what upsets me)?” is the perfect question to pose when Mercury and Venus meet and as we approach a Mercury retrograde in dramatic, passionate Scorpio. “What old story is actually playing out here?” is another good point of inquiry during the retrograde, which officially kicks off on Thursday and lasts until November 20th. On Friday Venus leaves the probing intensity of Scorpio for the warmth and inspiration of Sagittarius. Her stay will last until November 25th, coinciding with Mercury’s Scorpio venture, and it will include a conjunction with lucky Jupiter on the 24th. From optimistic Sag, the planet of beauty and pleasure will point to a better direction for our focus and it will show us the possibilities for a happier future. In short, the transits getting underway this week offer a pathway from victim to victor and from suffering to success. The slings and arrows have done their damage, yet in their wounding lies our capacity for healing, compassion and wholeness. Best look? A dedicated meditation space, well-stocked medicine bag and an MP3 of “You’ll Never Walk Alone”.

Forecast Oct 21-27, 2019: Surprise, Surprise

This week the cosmic emphasis shifts into detecting, shamanic Scorpio, and the influences getting underway now are set to stay with us for the remainder of 2019. On Wednesday the Sun joins Mercury and Venus in the fixed water sign of Scorpio and the week concludes with a provocative new Scorpio moon. Venus gets things started with an insightful trine to Neptune on Monday, and on Friday she’ll compare notes with astute Pluto when the two form a productive sextile. Mars and Saturn show us where resolution is needed when they make a tough square on Sunday morning, right before the dark moon slips into Scorpio. Sunday night’s new Scorpio moon is opposite of unorthodox Uranus. With a pending Mercury retrograde in Scorpio, October 31-November 20th, some truths are about to be unearthed. The involvement of Uranus at this new moon suggests that the coming revelations will be surprising, if not shocking. By the time the Sun finishes its journey through Scorpio on November 22nd, Mars will have moved into the transformative sign, and it will remain there until early January. Best look? A pure heart, clean mirror and secured seat belt.

The next few weeks have especially good aspects for getting to the bottom of things, for making life-changing decisions and for rediscovering one’s personal power. Forecast Oct 14-20, 2019: Only Getting Started

Fresh on the heels of a contentious Aries full moon, the week begins with more cardinal sign conflict. It comes in the form of a Libra Sun square to Pluto in Capricorn on Monday. Adding to the fallout, the Taurus moon will hook up with wild Uranus that morning, and then things will have a chance to settle down. Fortunately, after the rocky start, the planets form powerful and productive alignments for the remainder of the week. On Tuesday, Messenger Mercury in truth-seeking Scorpio, trines creative, psychic Neptune in holistic Pisces. These two will meet again on November 9th during Mercury’s retrograde, and both meetings are a variant of November 8th’s Sun, Saturn and Neptune collab, the one that contains the year’s final Saturn Neptune sextile. Take note of the insights that show up now: they have big implications for the coming weeks. Pisces concerns matters of spirit and Capricorn concerns matter itself. After Tuesday’s Neptune trine, informative Mercury sextiles Pluto on Saturday, and on Sunday Venus sextiles constructive Saturn. Additionally, Venus and Mercury are both in Scorpio and Saturn and Pluto are in Capricorn, and Pluto rules Scorpio. In short, the energies of all of the involved planets are fortifying one another, and there is deep understanding and a sense of mutual purpose among these players. So after the bumpy start, inspiration, pragmatism and structure are poised to bless sound hunches and integral work. Best look: a dream journal, a handful of sharpened pencils and rolled-up sleeves.
