Astrology’s earth signs are where ideas meet the physical dimension. Over the next few weeks, several planetary meetings will take place in earth signs. Simultaneously Mercury and Venus are taking part in an intricate and elegant dance involving the earth and air elements. In so doing, they’re creating a biofeedback loop between the intellect and matter. Additionally, Mercury’s retrograde status is affording everyone an opportunity to rethink and refine processes. On October 2nd Mercury will station and go direct. Pluto will follow suit on October 8th, the day before a full Moon in enterprising Aries. In short, the brakes will be coming off of Mercury and Pluto as an Aries Moon thrusts everyone and everything into a new paradigm. The time to ponder is finite and important.
Presently Mercury and Venus are in mutual reception. That is Mercury is in Libra, one of Venus’s home signs, and Venus is in Virgo, one of Mercury’s home signs. If the planets are likened to a theatrical troupe, mutual reception would be akin to its actors exchanging roles. The mere exercise broadens awareness and generates previously unavailable potentials. On September 23rd Mercury will re-enter its home sign of Virgo and on the 29th Venus will enter her domicile of Libra. This is the actors resuming their regular roles. Before then, there’s a chance to explore the creative channels that these role reversals have opened. The incoming earth sign alignments will add further clarity to what will and will not be feasible.
Venus, while in Virgo, will trine Uranus in Taurus on September 19th and Pluto in Capricorn on the new Libra Moon of the 25th, before conjoining Mercury on the 26th. Mercury, in Virgo, will trine Pluto during and after its retrograde, on September 27th and October 6th. Think dress rehearsal and showtime. Virgo is the domain of daily routines. These earth sign conferences are ideal for testing backup plans or trying alternative routes and methods in practical and ordinary matters.
Signals that we’re quickly moving into uncharted territory include a Mercury Sun conjunction on the 22nd, the day when the Sun moves into the cardinal air sign of Libra, the new Libra Moon on the 25th, the Aries full Moon on the 9th and the aforementioned forward motion of Mercury and Pluto. Arguably the most powerful eclipses of the year, and the Taurus Scorpio series, are set to start on October 25th. These occur in entrenched and intractable fixed signs. November 8th’s lunar eclipse (full Moon) will activate a t-square with Saturn, be tightly aligned with the Moon’s nodes and involve a cluster of planets including Mercury, Venus and innovating Uranus. November 8th is also Election Day in the United States. Virgo is the sign of preparation, organization and planning and Libra of collaboration, initiation and justice. Scorpio destroys to purify. Mercury and Venus will be in the heart of November 8th’s battle. In fact, the Sun will conjoin Mercury that day, as it is doing on September 22nd. Now is the time to take heed of the prescience flowing from the conversation between Mercury and Venus.
